With Thanksgiving just around the corner one thing is certain: December will be here before we know it! December brings with it the countdown to New Years, and a plethora of holiday parties. It also brings the annual office holiday party, and a great opportunity for companies to show their employees how much they appreciate them. With so many great local businesses in the Bay Area, why should you settle for a run of the mill office party in the conference room? (The answer is, you shouldn’t!) So without any further adieu we bring you our top five unique holiday office party ideas.
1. Tee off at Urban Putt
Few group activities inspire as much glee as the Mission’s Urban Putt. Enjoy dinner and drinks before teeing off on a fully San Francisco themed indoor miniature golf course. Ugly holiday sweaters encouraged.
2. Mix it up with a CLASH scavenger hunt
Who says a party has to stay in one place? Book one of CLASH SF’s scavenger hunts to ensure an evening of holiday silliness that no one will forget (seriously- because there are fanny packs and face paint involved).
3. Charter a Vantigo van (or three!)
We know it may be slightly passé to toot our own horn (pun intended), but we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t have rock solid proof that Vantigo is great for groups. Chartering one, two, or all three of our vans is a unique way to take on San Francisco. You make the itinerary, so whether we’re chauffeuring your pub crawl or touring you around the city and then to a secret location- that’s up to you. The world is your oyster! (Have a group bigger than 20? Give us a call, we can still make it work!)
4. Add some conscience to your cocktails with a dinner party at Old Skool Supper Club
The holiday season is a great time to give back to our local communities. A great way to do just that is by throwing your office party at the Old Skool Supper Club in Bayview. For those of you not familiar, Old Skool is jazz-themed dinner club run entirely by at-risk youth. Read more about their story and book your party here.
5. Hold a speakeasy takeover at the Berlinetta Lounge
San Francisco may offer a wide array of so called “speakeasies” but very few offer as cool of an experience as the Berlinetta Lounge, located in the basement of the Mystic Hotel. Encourage your coworkers to dress up in 1920s garb, and the evening will be ripe for instagramming. To find out about reservations call the Mystic Hotel at (415) 400-0500.
6. Get a little cheesy at the Cheese School
The Cheese School of San Francisco delights foodies everywhere with their delectable lessons on wine and cheese. They offer events at their location in the Mission, or can come to the location of your choice. (It should be noted that the ratio of well-arranged succulent per square foot at the Cheese School’s outdoor courtyard space is extremely on point).
If you make any of these ideas an office reality, let us know how it goes! Leave your best stories in the comments, and have a wonderful holiday season.
