5 Ways to Add VW Charm to Your Big Day

The holiday season often fills our heads with thoughts of mistletoe, latkes, and snow (at least on the East Coast), but some of us are preoccupied by a season that feels ages away (but is rapidly approaching). That season is wedding season. So for all the brides and grooms-to-be out there who are furiously Pinterest-ing away the hours, we’d like to share a few ideas for adding a little VW adorableness to your most special day.

1. Sweet Transportation

What would be sweeter than showing up to your wedding or reception in a VW van? We’re pretty sure the answer is nothing. With limo companies around the country expanding to offer VW van options, there’s no reason you shouldn’t have transportation that is both unique and fun. If you want to get really crazy with it, you can look into booking a full VW van stretch limo (they actually exist).

2. Unique Backdrops

Everyone knows how to stand in two lines and do the sorority squat, so how about switching things up and using a VW van to pose in and around for those timeless photos you’ll have forever? This also works well for other romantic photoshoots like engagement photos or special anniversaries.

3. Darling DJs (and Bartenders)

Depending on your location you may or may not have access to a company like The Bug Bar, which can provide the services of bar and/or DJ booth unlike any your guests will have ever seen before (or again). If you don’t happen to live in the UK, we encourage you to put your internet sleuthing skills to the test to find something similar in your area. If you’re successful, let us know!

4. vWedding Cake

Your VW love may need to stretch a bit further for this one, but a quick internet search will show you that you would not be the first, nor the last, to feature a VW wedding cake as your sweet treat. It’s incredible what people can do with fondant!

5. First Gear Honeymoon

For the adventuring type, we can assure you there is no better way to cruise off into the sunset with your newly official one-and-only than behind the wheel of a fully restored ’71 VW transporter (or camper if you’re really adventurous!) Renting one of these will ensure good stories for the little ones to come- just be sure one of you knows how to drive a stick shift!
